Due to the extreme restrictions placed on the length of the final product and the fact that we didn't take very many takes of each scene, we never had much flexibility in the exact parts of our film to use. The first part of our editing, of course, involved looking through the footage in a more detailed way (than we did outside, deciding which exact takes to use, and stacking them together in order to check their length and making sure that they were OK to use in our final film (mainly that they could fit within the very specific 1:55 to 2:00). As I am the main one tasked with editing the film, most of the responsibility for this part fell in my hands and I have the most things to say about the process, but Arturo and Alejandro both played an instrumental role in editing as well as they provided numerous suggestions and they reviewed the process often in order to check to see if there was anything that could be improved.
The interface
For the first, third, fourth, and fifth scenes, it was evident which take we'd use, as the pattern for those was that we had one really good take after which we moved on to recording the next thing. As for the conversation scene (#2), we only did one take of that, but it was four minutes long, so there was lots of conversation to choose from. After listening to the conversation numerous times, I picked one certain segment that I felt flowed best.
Unfortunately, there are a few issues that we've run into as we have started, but luckily it's nothing that requires another shooting session. While most people (hopefully) would not be able to notice these problems, we're definitely going to try to iron them out in some way and resolve them as best we can.

The first issue is that during the third scene, as the driver of the car is talking to himself just before realizing everyone has disappeared, he's driving, and for a second you can see the rest of the cast right outside the window (since we were driving in a mostly empty parking lot and as these scenes were being recorded, we mostly stood around walking). This is unfortunate, though we're pretty sure that we can take care of this issue by hopefully blurring out the faces sufficiently.
A second major issue will be the timing and hopefully being able to add the radio segment to the conversation scene. As it turns out, we're really running low on time remaining, and that's even when cutting things really close. Although Arturo has offered to help create the voiceover (that won't be a problem), we're still looking for the extra time to do it in, and I'm not certain we'll be able to add the radio segment all things considered. We're trying our best, though!
