Preparing for the first day of filming

Miramar Regional Park, where we plan to film

    Right now, our plan is that our first day of filming will be on Saturday: February 26, 2022. While this is a little bit later than it should be, this was the first available day that we were able to get everyone else we'll be filming with onboard and available. At least, that's the plan, we'll try to get six people. This should make things easy and natural to create, especially with our four major scenes, and also in adding diegetic background ambient noise that can both sound like it fills up the room while also being understandable.

    Our location of filming is going to be Miramar Regional Park, which is an easily accessible area near the school. I myself live close enough that I can reach it on foot. Right now, the plan doesn't call for leaving the park, but if we find a good place with an underpass outside the park (especially since the park doesn't have one), we might travel to it in order to get the feeling of that.

    For preparation, we all plan to wear dark clothing except for the person who'll be driving the car, who'll wear white, to symbolize survival (as was further expounded on in the Costuming blog post). We don't currently expect filming will take very long, especially with our thorough storyboard, and we also don't expect that it'll take more than one session to get all of our video clips to be used. Hopefully this will leave much time for us to edit, tweak, and perfect our upcoming film.

A few days back, we were made to create five different shots for our class with a partner, each using a different camera angle. Here is my work:      Video #1 - Introductory Scene - This shot shows the campus before stopping and zooming in on a tree, which the audience will ideally view as being the most integral part of the story. It's introductory because it shows the setting of the rest of the movie and introduces key items. This shot was created by simply rotating the camera and then using the zoom function on it, zoning in on the tree. Our goal of making an introductory scene was probably achieved.      Video #2 - High Shot - This shot displays Arturo (my partner) from a high vantage point below the viewer. CCR - Creative Critical Reflection

This is my Creative Critical Reflection (Length 11:44): NOTE: THERE IS AN ERROR AT 2:03 - I say "DIEGETIC SOUND" when I mean to say "NON-DIEGETIC SOUND". Summary: Overall, it was a great experience working on this project. The film overall is a horror / adventure film about someone who "loses" some of his friends while driving without any explanation or reason. This causes him to have a mental breakdown, serving as the intro to our movie "Search", which will presumably be about the driver searching for his friends.
